Testimonial from Jennifer Cross, Mom
Riley Cross – Penn State Soccer Recruit 2023
June 15th can be a really exciting time for elite soccer players who are headed into their Junior year of high school. This is the time where they can speak to college coaches directly.
As Riley was approaching this day, being 15 years old, an introvert and shy, she knew she needed to practice and get ready to speak with the coaches. She was nervous, but she was focused on her goal.
Riley met with Erin several times for individual coaching. Erin helped Riley focus on taking out filler words like “like”, pausing to think, and establishing energy with tips like standing during the calls. As her mom, I was blown away at how Riley handled herself on the calls, quite frankly, and couldn’t believe this was Riley.
In addition to articulating her thoughts with poise, Erin guided her in creating a storyboard which Riley set up in front of her during her calls. The story board had notes to remind her of her 30 second elevator pitch to describe herself, her strengths, areas of opportunities, goals, and what she wanted to get out of a college program.
When a coach told her she was his favorite conversation, for me, above and beyond being recruited, I knew this was a great start to her succeeding in life! Riley looks forward to continuing to work with Erin to continue to build confidence and leverage her strengths as an introverted person. I am forever grateful to Erin for the work she has done with Riley, and I look forward to seeing the continued growth from Riley.

Athletes will feel confident and prepared.
Student athletes know how to train. Successful athletes are disciplined and coachable. They know what it takes to win on the court or field.
This is just a new game. Once they understand the rules and “practice the drills,” they will feel confident to handle any college recruitment interview. We make sure to show them the skills they need to practice to win at this college recruitment game.
We offer guides like our Pre-Interview Guide, Interview Tips, and Parent Guide if families would like to work through them individually, but we have found the greatest success for student athletes when they have accountability and individualized coaching.
We love getting to know students and watching their confidence grow over our 2-4 week coaching process.
